L train service suspended after man hit by train: Officials

A man was fatally struck by a train in Manhattan on Tuesday, causing service changes on the L train, according to police and the MTA.

The man was pronounced dead at the Sixth Avenue L train station in Manhattan around 1:15 p.m., police said.

As of 1:45 p.m., there was no L train service between Eight Avenue in Manhattan and Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, per the MTA.

Riders are advised to take the M14A or M14D bus to get between Eighth and First avenues, the MTA said. People looking to get between Broadway Junction and Eighth Avenue should transfer to an A or C train.
