New Yorkers woke up to a layer of snow Thursday morning, but the wintry weather didn't last long.
Snow fell until around 9 a.m., with between 1 and 2 inches accumulating across the city, the National Weather Service said.
The rest of the day is expected to be mostly sunny, meteorologist Jay Engle said.
The high temperature on Thursday is 35 degrees, the NWS said. It will be slightly colder Friday, with a high of 33 degrees, but no precipitation is expected on Friday.
