Signal problems cause extensive subway delays in Queens


Signal problems caused extensive delays on multiple subway lines in Queens and Manhattan Tuesday morning, the MTA said.

The problems, at Fifth Avenue-59th Street and Queens Plaza, started around 7:30 a.m. Three hours later, E, F, M, N, Q, R and W trains were still running with delays, according to the MTA. Additionally, the following service changes are in effect:

-Some southbound R trains are running along the F line from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue to Lexington Avenue-63rd Street and then along the Q line to 57th Street-Seventh Avenue.

-Some N trains are running along the Q line between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue and 96th Street in both directions.

-W trains are running along the Q line between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue and 96th Street in both directions.
