Officer injured by hit-and-run driver in the Bronx: NYPD

The hunt is on for a driver who struck and injured an NYPD officer in the Bronx Thursday morning, police said.

The officer had stopped the vehicle near West 183rd Street and Grand Avenue just before 10 a.m., but the driver took off, according to cops.

The officer suffered a non-life-threatening injury to the leg, an NYPD spokesman said.

The driver fled in the vehicle, but it was later found “nearby,” the spokesman added.

Cops were still searching for the suspect, as of Thursday afternoon.
