NYPD: Woman shot by police in the Bronx


A woman was shot by police officers in the Bronx Tuesday night, the NYPD said.

According to a police spokesman, the shooting happened on Pugsley Avenue in the Castle Hill section around 6:05 p.m.

The woman was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, the spokesman said.

Although there are multiple reports the woman was armed with a knife, police said the circumstances behind the shooting are not yet known.
