2 injured when car jumps curb on UWS


A woman is in critical condition and a man was injured when a car drove up onto a sidewalk on the Upper West Side Thursday morning, police said.

The car jumped the curb outside 41 W. 96th St. around 11:30 a.m., according to police, and struck a 63-year-old woman and 59-year-old man.

Both victims were taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, police said. The woman was listed in critical condition with a possible severed leg, per an NYPD spokeswoman. The man was in stable condition with unknown injuries, the spokeswoman said.

The driver remained at the scene and, so far, there have been no arrests or summonses, according to police. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
