NYPD: Man jumped in front of train at 42nd Street


A man was fatally hit by a downtown E train at the 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal station Monday morning, police and fire officials said.

The FDNY responded to a call of a person under the train around 8:45 a.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, fire officials said.

Cops said the man had jumped in front of the train.

Due to the incident, downtown A trains are running local between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and West Fourth Street-Washington Square. Downtown E trains are running along the M line between Fifth Avenue-53rd Street and West Fourth Street-Washington Square.
