NYPD: G train strikes 2 MTA workers, killing 1

Two MTA workers were hit by a G train, one fatally, in Brooklyn early Thursday morning, police said.

The workers were on the tracks between the Fort Hamilton and Church Avenue stations just after midnight. They were working on the tracks when a southbound G train struck them, pinning them under the train, cops said.

The workers were rescued from the tracks through an emergency exit on street level near East Third Street and Canton Avenue, police and fire officials said.

One of the workers, a 53-year old man, was pronounced dead at Maimonides Hospital. The other worker, a 49-year-old man, was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition, police said.
