Two brothers were arrested Thursday in connection to a 2014 murder of a Williamsburg man, police said.
Menachem Stark, 39, a landlord, was kidnapped outside the South Side Associated in Williamsburg by two men who forced him into their car on Jan. 2, 2014, cops said. He was found murdered the next day inside a dumpster on Long Island, they said.
Erskin Felix, 38, of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping, while his brother, Kendall Felix, 28, also of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence.
Two years ago, in April 2014, a third man, Kendel Felix, 29, of Crown Heights, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping. Police said Kendel Felix is believed to be related to the brothers, but did not say what their exact relation was.
Kendel Felix was convicted of the murder a few weeks ago, the Brooklyn DA’s office said. He faces up to 25 years in prison.
According to the trial testimony and Kendel Felix’s confession, he had done construction work for Stark and he, as well as the others involved in the murder, believed Stark owed them money.
Kendel said he had only intended to kidnap and rob Stark, but Stark resisted and he was killed when one of the kidnappers sat on his chest, the DA’s office said.
The kidnappers drove Stark’s body to Nassau County on Long Island, put it in a dumpster, threw gasoline on it and set it on fire.
