Bring home a new pet this election season

Here's one more important decision for you to make this election season: Should you adopt a dog, cat or rabbit?

Animal rescue group Animal Care Centers of NYC kicked off a "race to the right house" adoption special on Tuesday after the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

According to an ACC news release, the shelter will be reducing adoption fees for pets six months and older to $20.16 until Nov. 8 -- see what they did there? Additionally, ACC cat and dog adoptions will include vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neutering, identification tags and a free visit to a participating vet. Rabbit adoptions will come with full starter kits complete with food and treats.

If you're ready to open up your apartment to a new fuzzy friend, you can check out one of the ACC's three locations (326 East 110 St, Manhattan; 2336 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn; 3139 Veterans Rd, Staten Island).

The adoptable pets will also be touring NYC on a "campaign trail," stopping at pet stores and events through November.
